A souped-up electronic version of ‘Floe’ by Philip Glass as reimagined by Martin Goldray (a Glass Ensemble member) from the soundtrack of ‘La Chiesa/The Church‘.

La Chiesa is a 1989 Italian occult horror movie directed by Michele Soavi and produced by the master of horror himself, Dario Argento. From what I remember, in the movie this track is used to underscore an extended scene where the Knights Templar hunt down a sect of Devil-Worshipping heretics. I’m not sure if that scenario is exactly what Glass had in mind when writing the original ‘Glassworks Suite’ back in the 70’s, but I am reminded that he did allow a version of ‘Music in Similar Motion’ to be used on Argento’s groundbreaking ‘Suspiria‘ soundtrack in 1977.
